I am always on the lookout for the best exercises to lose weight at home. I am a busy single mom and I do not have time to go to the gym and I do not have time to clutter up my home with a bunch of workout equipment that I know I am not even going to use.
My solution was to just find the best exercises to lose weight at home so that I could do them before I went to bed. And I am going to share with you exactly the type of exercises that I have been doing that caused me to lose 8 pounds in two weeks.
And I am down 50 pounds from around this time last year (my weight was so out of control I know). I do not want to go back to that place of having all this extra weight on my body I also did not want to get sucked into paying gym memberships.
Also, feel free to watch my video on what prompted me to make a permanent lifestyle choice to lead a healthy lifestyle after gaining weight and being over 200lbs. And don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel by clicking here.

Good exercises to lose weight at home The 1000 calorie Workouts
I did not do these exercises every single day because they were a lot. But when you are watching what you eat. Check out some of my other blog on my diet. Then doing a 1k calorie workout can make you lose weight very fast.
Imagine if you were only eating about 1500-1800 calories a day, you do a 1k calorie workout and then you have can just burn the rest of the 500-800 calories naturally throughout the day. You will lose weight once you burn more calories in a day then you have consumed.
There are many 1k calorie workouts but this one was my favorite one to do because the exercises are pretty straight forward and they do not have to require a lot of flexibility or anything crazy to them.
The jumping jacks can be hard, but the more you do them the more you will get used to them. And it is an exercise that is using a lot of muscles in your body. They require no equipment and are very effective.
The other exercises they suggest are good because my focus areas (as I sure it is for most women) is to tighten up my butt, legs, and abs. That and this fitness routine touches on all of this.
The Best exercises to lose weight at home ~ The Weekly Routine
I know that the above 1k calorie burn can be intense and it actually took me a fair amount of time to do it. For the days I wanted to mix it up or just not do the 1k workout, then I just turned to this weekly workout routine. It was really easy to just refer to something each day, these exercises took a lot of time, and they worked out a different part of the body.
The best exercises to lose weight at home ~ Focus Workouts
Each person is different and what I want to work on in my body may not be the same thing that you want to work on. I mean I pretty much want to work on everything BUT you may just want to work on just your abs or your butt. Either way, I have been doing specific workouts that target the exact areas I want to work out.
Good exercises to lose weight at home “ Abs
For me personally, I like to keep my ab exercises rather simple which is why I like the following ab exercises. It will work your abs but does not require rolling all over the floor and doing a thousand positions to do it.
Good exercises to lose weight at home ~ Butt
I remember when NOT having a butt was in, and for someone like myself who always had a butt I was always trying to hide it. But now it is okay to have a butt, it just needs to tone up which is where the following exercises will get you.
These exercises are good for a month, go up gradually, and they are focused on the booty area. Once again these exercises are hard, but pretty simple body movement-wise. It does not require a lot of flexibility or putting your feet behind your head to do them.
Good exercises to lose weight at home ~ Legs
I have added the following leg workouts in case you REALLY want to do more to your legs. But honestly, after doing most of the above exercises your legs will naturally be worked out anyway. Here are some additional leg workouts that you can do at home.
Good exercises to lose weight at home ~ Arms
For myself, my arms are normally where I am lacking the most. I do not have strong arms and I do not do a lot of arm exercises. So I like to keep it pretty simple when it comes to building my arms. I want them to look toned, but I do not need to win a deadlift contest or anything like that. Below are so many of the movements that I do for my arms.
Good exercises to lose weight at home The Flex belt
Okay, this is not really an exercise but a machine so to speak. I have had mine for a while but I just started using it again. I have a lot of success in the past. When I mean this thing works, this thing works. It is the best belt out there. I have the ab belt and the butt belt. But they also have other belts for other parts of your body.
When after you exercise if you slap these bad boys on you for about 30 minutes to an hour a day you would be surprised at how much a difference these things make intoning.
It does not burn calories but it does tone and I just sit or lay down while I do it. It is such a quick and easy to get some additional toning done on your body that requires little effort. I can only attest for the Flex belt, that is the only one that has actually worked for me and it is FDA approved. You can click my affiliate link here to buy.
